LenMus is a free program for learning music. LenMus program allows you to focus on specific skills and exercises, on both theory and aural training. The different activities can be customized to meet your needs, and it provides interactive feedback until mastery of each concept is achieved. It also includes an score editor.

bullet Committed to freedom

LenMus is an open project committed to the principles of free education, free access to information, and free software. It has no commercial purpose. LenMus is licensed under the GNU General Public License, meaning you can use it for free and that you have the right to access the source code and modify it if you like. No cost for you and no time wasted on garbage like registration codes, copy protection or advertisements.

LenMus is commited to support your language. Software tools should be usable by people in their own native language, so I will continue doing my best to support yours. Currently there are no many available translations. But your collaboration is welcome to translate LenMus to your language. I will include your translation in the next release.

bullet On any platform

LenMus is a cross-platform project developed in C++ with the wxWidgets library. It can run on any platform supported by wxWidgets (MS Windows, Mac OS X, GTK+, X11, Motif, WinCE, and more) although LenMus was only tested on Linux with GTK+ and on Windows.

Windows XP logo Windows 98 logo Only the Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista version is available. The LenMus version for older Windows versions (Windows 95/98/Me) is no longer available.

Linux & Unix logos The Linux version compiles and works, but I have no experience with autotools and learning it to prepare a distribution package will take me much time. If you would like to contribute by doing it, please contact me. Thank you!

You can run the windows version of LenMus under Linux using Wine or CrossOver Linux. See the installation page for more details.

Mac OS X logo LenMus code is ready to be compiled and built for Mac OS X. But we do not have software/hardware to do the porting. If you would like to contribute by preparing and testing this release you are welcome. Please, contact me. Thank you.
